Owen's First Haircut

This past Sunday we finally took Owen to get his first haircut (15 months old)!  It was so long that it was in his eyes most of the time, and reached his nose when not brushed to the side.  And I don't know how people with girls deal with food in the hair - it seemed like I was constantly washing food out of it after meals!  Below are 2 "before" pictures...the first one was when I put one of my own hair clips in to hold his hair up at dinner one night :)  Which leads to another reason we went for a cut - I was getting a lot of "you have such cute boy/girl twins" comments lately!

Now I know with 3 boys we will soon be attempting our own home haircuts, but we went to a place called Cartoon Cuts for this special first time occasion!  For me it was worth having a person experienced with squirming, crying babies do the cutting.  As soon as Owen sat down and started crying, I was ready to pack him back up and leave...but Ryan insisted we stay and see how it went.  I most certainly would have given up at home and let him run off with a half done home cut!  Plus I got this cute little certificate with a locket of his hair in a baggie.  There was a lot of screaming and crying at the start (see video at the end), but once we pulled out his wubbie and got him a little interested in the cartoon on the mini TV they had at his station he calmed down a little bit.  They also let him sit on Ryan's lap which helped him stay still a little better.

All done - Owen looks like a big boy with his new haircut...and also a little exhausted and confused after surviving that ordeal!  Poor Oliver (who is still far from having enough hair to cut!) had to sit in his stroller the whole time, so they both earned a special treat - a carousel ride!!  Even baby Spencer got to ride along.

Back home and happy in the ball pool!  Oliver is looking at Owen and admiring his new haircut.
