National Gardens

Last weekend Uncle Matt and Aunt Angela came to visit and we spent Saturday with the boys in DC.  We had a delicious lunch at the American Indian museum, then spent the rest of the afternoon exploring the National Gardens and monuments outside the Capitol.  We had never been to the Gardens before, and were excited to find such a beautiful place to take the boys downtown.  I've heard there is an awesome model train display there we'll be sure to go back and see at Christmas time!  The boys had fun running around the outdoor gardens, smelling flowers and playing in the indoor children's garden.  There were tunnels to run through, a play house, and lizard shaped watering cans and a hand pump to water the plants!  Afterward, we walked around the Capitol reflecting pool and let the boys climb the monuments and throw some scraps of leftover sandwich to the ducks.  After a long day, they still had enough energy to run the final length of the reflecting pool on the way to the car!
