First W&OD Bike Ride
Today we took the boys out for their first ride on the W&OD bike trail. We parked near a historic railroad car in Herndon that they called "The Little Red Caboose" and started on the trail from there. We rode until we saw a playground and stopped for a snack. Even though it was overcast and a bit cold, they didn't want stop riding when it was time to go back home.

Paw Patrol Party
Last weekend, the boys' friends Jakob and Joslyn celebrated their 5th birthday with a Paw Patrol themed party. They had their faces painted the colors of their favorite pups, made Paw Patrol dog collars, and took pictures in the "dog house", and got to swing at the pup pinata. Owen is crazy about everything pink right now and was very specific in his request to have his face painted pink with a little bit of orange in the middle. He brought home a handful of laminated cutouts of "Skye" the girl dog that dresses in pink and taped them to his bed. This past week he's spent time coloring, cutting, and painting pictures of Skye!
April Showers
The boys love rainy days because they get to wear their rain jackets and boots to preschool, and splash in every puddle along the way. April showers bring May flowers!

Cherry Blossom Ride
Last week was the peak of the Cherry Blossoms in DC and we took our bikes downtown to enjoy the sites. It was the first time we'd taken the trailers anywhere other than around our neighborhood and everyone was excited for a big family bike ride! Having the bikes helped us navigate the crowds and get in much more site-seeing compared to walking. We biked around the Jefferson Memorial and stopped to go inside and look out over the Tidal Basin, then got back on and made the long loop around the entire basin itself. The boys had great stamina - they we good at pedaling, saying hello to people, ringing the bike bell, and didn't mind when we took several detours off-road to get around slow moving crowds. We took a lot of pictures...and people took a lot of pictures of us! I guess we're not your average tourist site. Definitely looking forward to many more bike rides this spring and summer!

Little Kickers
The boys started soccer last Saturday morning with the Great Falls Little Kickers. Owen and Oliver are on the same 4 year old team with their neighborhood friend, Charlie. And Spencer is on a 3 year old team with another neighborhood friend, Evelyn. It was a beautiful spring morning and we all enjoyed being outside with friends. When we came home, they wanted to play outside a little longer before lunch. Daddy created a slide "hack" for their Spider man jungle gym, which they really loved.
