Cherry Blossom Ride

Last week was the peak of the Cherry Blossoms in DC and we took our bikes downtown to enjoy the sites.  It was the first time we'd taken the trailers anywhere other than around our neighborhood and everyone was excited for a big family bike ride!  Having the bikes helped us navigate the crowds and get in much more site-seeing compared to walking.  We biked around the Jefferson Memorial and stopped to go inside and look out over the Tidal Basin, then got back on and made the long loop around the entire basin itself.  The boys had great stamina - they we good at pedaling, saying hello to people, ringing the bike bell, and didn't mind when we took several detours off-road to get around slow moving crowds.  We took a lot of pictures...and people took a lot of pictures of us!  I guess we're not your average tourist site.  Definitely looking forward to many more bike rides this spring and summer!
