Our kitchen has been invaded by babies and high chairs, and a never ending supply of peas, carrots, and bits of sandwich on the floor. Seriously, despite how many times a day I clean the floor it's always a game of chance to walk around barefoot in this area (that is, unless you don't mind a cold smashed pea or spot of hummus on the bottom of your foot). Here's a snapshot during an average mealtime at our house, and yes we do this routine like clockwork, 3 times per day. Now that Spencer is eating more solid food things have become more interesting, and instead of getting another full blown high chair I opted for a booster that straps to the chairs that we already have (which I must say were already pretty high). As an aside, when I was shopping for this booster I saw a similar "Cars" themed one, complete with steering wheel and dashboard with lots of little control buttons. I only considered it for about 2 seconds, knowing what a huge meltdown the twins would have if they saw this and could not have one...and also what a nightmare that thing must be to clean. I think it must be for parents with only one child in a high chair, or who have much more patience than me and are crazy enough to buy several of those things. So I went with the simple one.
Anyway, Spencer loves his new seat. He gets to sit up high and watch the big boys eat, and they love to munch away and babble about the baby sitting across from them. I also think they're smart enough to have realized that adding one more to the mealtime mix has decreased our ability to constantly monitor the throwing of food and spilling of milk, so they now tend to sneak these activities in when we're off guard!
