We Ate All The Candy

Ryan and I saw a funny video challenge on Jimmy Kimmel, where parents tell their kids that they ate all of the candy the morning after Halloween and video the reaction.  We thought it would be fun to try out...and wow, were they devastated!!  Or rather I should say, Owen and Oliver were devastated.  We didn't expect instant breakdown into tears...and felt bad right away, alleviating the situation by telling them we only ate 1 bucket!  It was a good illustration of how important buckets full of candy are to a 2 year old vs. a 3 year old.  Yeah, Spencer really loves treats and candy, but he was barely phased by our announcement.  I guess he figured he'd get treats elsewhere or that we'd buy him more.  But the twins did not forget for a minute all of the hard work they put into rounding up those buckets of candy throughout the neighborhood, and certainly have a sense of ownership over them.  Owen even sat and picked out all of his favorites (M&Ms and Skittles) one night, and put the rest into Spencer's bucket.  Sorry boys, if you're watching this as adults one day...you'll probably have no idea who Jimmy Kimmel is, but we can blame him for the idea :)
