Water Bottle
Spencie loves when he's allowed to do things the big boys are doing - like drinking from a water bottle! At first he would just sneak over, literally commando crawling under the radar, and chew on the spout when one of the twins left a bottle laying around. But then I started watching him more closely after he'd stolen the bottle...and realized he was actually sipping through the straw and drinking the water! The twins took much longer to catch on to straw cups (probably because they were bottle fed), but these particular cups are recommended for 12+ months on the package so I was still surprised, and glad because I hate sippy cups!! Cleaning and constantly messing with the plastic valve is annoying, plus I found it counter intuitive teaching the boys to lift the sippy up so high in order to get any liquid out, only to soon move on to cups with lids and straws where they're supposed to leave the cup down. Even when they move on to regular open cups in the future I wouldn't want them lifting it as high as needed to get a drink from a sippy, which is why I did away with those and pushed the straw cups anyway. But Spencie is so funny - he's really happy when he gets his hands on a water bottle - so much that he starts crying when you try and take it away (I don't want him filling his belly with too much water)! You can see in the video how he looks over at Owen, who also has a water bottle in hand, and feels like one of the big boys!
