Three Blind Mice!!!

With all the parties, jamborees, and pumpkin patches we visited this year, putting on the boys' 3 blind mice costumes one last time on Halloween felt pretty routine (and actually a bit of a relief!).  I started off with a picture from the twins club party we went to earlier in the month.  They had a photographer taking pictures of families as they walked in, and we just recently got this photo back - the only shot we have of all 3 boys wearing most of their props!

On Halloween night we went down to the Great Falls Village green for the town's Halloween Spooktacular event where kids can walk around and trick-or-treat from door to door at the various local stores and vendors.  I think this was a little overwhelming for the boys' age this year; there were haunted houses, kids, candy, and costumes everywhere...some probably a little too scary for 1-2 year olds!  Oliver told me, "no more scary pumpkin" at the end of the night before bed - I'm not sure what he saw, but it must have been something at the Spooktacular!  There was a large, creepily real looking spider that a lady was walking around on a leash that they were unsure about at first, but wanted to take turns petting in the end.  In their heads they thought that thing was real...now that's scary!

And it was around this moment that we started to realize as the sun had set, Oliver was having a hard time seeing with his sunglasses on and really had become a "blind" mouse, wandering around aimlessly.  At least he stopped to smell the flowers!

And a couple from trick-or-treating in the neighborhood!  It started sprinkling a little bit right when we headed out in the wagon, but we went anyway with umbrellas and a lantern.  After all the build up with the black kitty cat's house, we had to go there!  And since our neighborhood doesn't get many trick-or-treaters most people give out full-sized candy bars, or let the kids take as many pieces of candy as they want.  These mice were good little scavengers for Mommy and Daddy's snack later on... and we were all exhausted by the end of the night!!
