Figure Skating Spence

Last Wednesday we took Spencer out ice skating at Reston Town Center while the twins were at preschool.  This was the first time we've taken any of the boys ice skating and thought it would be easier to try it out with one.  He was so happy and eager to get on the ice, asking us to skate him around the rink fast!  But once he figured out that he could skate "by himself"...he wanted nothing more than to try without any help.  We went from hovering just inches away when we first started, to letting him go solo (or else hear him scream for us to move away)!  In the last video he almost crosses the entire rink by himself.  He would have made it to the wall but an onlooker starts cheering, distracting him enough to lose balance and fall.  The funny part of that video is that I was squatted down with the camera and couldn't keep moving backward as he continued to skate farther and farther than he'd ever gone.  I motioned for Ryan to come around and start pulling me backward!  It worked - we got a really cute 2 minutes of Spencer skating by himself for the first time!
