My view of "peaceful play" from the kitchen |

Bucket of Fun
This afternoon we played with buckets full of choo choos and train tracks, enough to keep the boys deep in play while Mommy got a few things done in the kitchen. This included making kale pesto from scratch (I've been working on new recipes and dinner ideas a lot lately)...unfortunately, it wasn't a hit with the boys. My little Spencie ate it of course since he rarely turns anything down, but they all preferred the noodles plain or with red sauce...easy enough. I am loving our setup lately - having the lower level family room all the way through to the playroom baby-proofed - because the boys are becoming better and better about playing nicely in these big open spaces and in the hallway between when I need to pop up into the kitchen (where I can still hear and see everything) and grab something to eat or do a few chores. It's funny though how the play gravitates from one spot to the next, all three usually moving together like a little herd. Today after tiring of the choo choos they suddenly decided to grab the big blue bucket, take it the playroom and all jump in it together. The big boys are having more and more fun with Spencer each day as he's nearing toddler-hood ever so quickly (tear)!
