My Funny Valentines

We had a really fun Valentine's Day yesterday - starting out with breakfast, bears and balloons (you can't go wrong with balloons at our house)!  I experimented with 2 different types of "red" food, all made from scratch, including three medium-sized organic beets:  red beet pancakes (breakfast) and red beet hummus (lunch).  Both turned out pretty yummy, but I think the pancakes were a bigger hit than the hummus.  Oliver and Spencer still put away quite a bit of hummus though!  After breakfast Oliver went to art class with me and Owen stayed home since he was still sick.  Oliver made a Valentine's headband and when we came home everyone had a turn wearing it during lunch.  Spencie was sophisticated enough to still drink from a straw cup, even though the headband covered his eyes!  The rest of the day was pretty much spent playing - I mean tormenting - Wesley with the balloons and strings.
