There is so much you can do at home to help your children become independent and satisfy their need to do things on their own (which is huge at this age). There will be more to come on this topic - I need to hit up a Target first in order to implement some of the easier tips and tricks. I tried letting the boys explore the cupboards tonight - the basic idea here is that after doing this several times they will "satisfy" their need to take everything out and it will become less desirable if it isn't off limits anymore. It was actually cute, they kept saying "help mama" and "cooking"...and I think I was able to get them to eat a few more bites of broccoli by telling them that it was broccoli that they "helped cook"!

Cooking Dinner
Around dinner time the boys are usually very interested in following me into the kitchen to see what I'm up to. We don't have child locks on the bottom cupboards as the only things stored in there are pots, pans, and Tupperware...but we do ask them to leave the doors closed and leave the things inside alone, over and over again. This week I went to our twin's club monthly meeting, where the guest speaker was a certified Montessori expert and I loved the whole Montessori philosophy! See her blog here: http://montessorionthedouble.com/
