Last Tuesday was the first day of a new preschool year. Owen and Oliver were happy to meet their new teachers and see some old friends from last year's class, and Spencer was excited to finally be big enough for preschool too! Owen was so funny the night before, explaining to us that if he heard Spencie crying in the 2 year old class (next door to his 3 year old classroom) that he was going to go over and tell him, "It's OK, Mommy always comes to pick you up." I doubt Spencer will have any separation anxiety, but it is nice knowing that if he does ever get upset about something his big brothers are just a few feet away and that the teachers will gladly round them all up if anyone needs moral support! They'll also have common time on the playground and at special events. But he was right at home exploring the 2's classroom and toys on the first day, probably remembering it from the holiday parties he got to participate in with the twins' class last year (which usually involved a cupcake)! The first day of orientation had a staggered start for the various age groups, so I took the twins in first and Daddy brought Spencer an hour later (thus the separate front step pictures). But we all spent some time on the playground before heading back home, and the boys are thrilled there's a giant, brand new sandbox out there! Now I'll not only be removing paint and glue from 3 outfits, but also be cleaning sand from 3 sets of shoes, hair and clothes :)
