Clemyjontri Park

Last week we visited Clemyjontri Park - I heard this was a premier playground in all of northern VA, but hadn't really been that compelled to make the 20-30 minute drive.  Now that the boys have turned 2, they're all about playgrounds and especially slides.  We did some playground exploring last week and found a few new ones, one that was not up to par in Reston, an decent one at the nearby Forestville Elementary school...and then Clemyjontri!  This place was amazing, HUGE, and surprisingly a lot closer to our house than I thought!  Here is an aerial shot from the Fairfax County website:

There were lots of large play structures, different than you'd find on an average playground.  The big red firetruck, school bus, and other "transportation" related ones were the boys favorites of course.  We played on the swings for a bit and had snacks while relaxing in the extra big swing chairs.  Spencie loved walking around on the soft, colorful ground and looked like a born runner in his track suit and sneakers on the rainbow track.  The boys spent a lot of time on the tall, blue tunnel slide and then our last stop was the seesaw.  We'll definitely be going back to Clemyjontri weekday mornings as the weather continues to warm up!!
