Spencie Turns 1!!!

Part II to Spencie's birthday festivities: after a nice long nap, the boys came downstairs and got ready to play outside for a bit before dinner.  Spencie found his brand new birthday tricycle waiting for him and was very excited!!  It's a mini version of the twin's Radio Flyer trikes, which I made sure were also outside and ready to go alongside the new one (to prevent meltdowns).  But of course the new toy was instantly the best and the twins wanted turns riding it right away.  It also has a bell, adding a whole new level of intrigue.  Owen was especially taken in with it and spent the longest amount of time riding it after Spencer had the first birthday spin.

We came inside and had spaghetti and meatballs with broccoli for dinner, followed by a chocolate cupcake for Spencer.  Since he eats just about everything, I wasn't surprised that he loved the cupcake.  The funny thing was that Oliver kept reaching over onto his tray and asking for bites of it, while Owen was completely disinterested.  The non cupcake eater was the only one with a shirt still on post cupcake.  We ended the night with one more gift that we knew Spencie would love...he figured out what it was even before opening it, but the big boys insisted on helping get the wrapping paper off anyway...BALL BALL!
