Snackin' on Strawberries

Strawberries: another great thing about the sudden warm (I mean hot) weather!  I know I've been complaining about the long winter and wishing for the heat, but today felt like the peak of summer in the upper 80's!!  A little bit of transition time would have been nice.  I had to do some quick wardrobe adjustment in the boys' rooms to find shorts, t-shirts, and pjs for this heat wave.  But back to the strawberries...Ryan brought home some good looking organic strawberries yesterday, which have been very hard to find for the past couple months.  The boys wanted to help me wash and sort the berries this morning for their morning snack.  I think most of the snacking was done at the counter during the preparation, but we still took a bowl out on the deck and Spencie got to join in on one of his favorite activities - eating!  Afterward, I brought out some paper, popsicle sticks, crayons, glue sticks, feathers, and stickers and we made a collaborative masterpiece.  The boys did a good job of keeping the crayons and glue on the paper, I did a good job of keeping the stickers and feathers out of Spencie's mouth, and in the end we had a colorful and feathery work of art!
