Hike To Base

This morning we took the boys to hike the Seneca trail and have lunch at "base" - a big stump in the middle of the trail they've come to know and remember.  Owen set a quick pace as the pack leader, with Spencer right behind holding my hand as he navigated tree stumps and rocks.  I was very impressed with his hiking skills today as he dodged one obstacle after another and pressed tirelessly forward.  In the end he did the most hiking of all, as he didn't ask to be carried on the way back like Owen and Oliver!  When we got to our destination, they all ran over and touched base with an excited sense of accomplishment and we sat down on a log for lunch.  Everyone had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and the boys quickly downed their juice boxes after all the walking.  Oliver and Spencer sat next to each other as they had lunch and I was amazed at how much they looked like twins!
