For the boys' birthday Nana sent 3 little beanie baby animals and Owen quickly claimed the Dalmatian pup as his own. Spencer picked the tiger named Striper, but gave him so much love and attention that it wound up with a small tear in the fur and started leaking beans...so that one is out of commission until further notice (i.e. I have time to sew it back up). And Oliver picked the elephant but quickly lost interest as he started to realize that the dog was the "hot" item! Owen named him Marshall after the fire dog on their favorite show, Paw Patrol. The popularity of our Marshall dog went up exponentially after the connection between the toy and the show was made, and suddenly Oliver and Spencer were extremely jealous. I asked my parents where they bought Marshall so I could get two more, but Pap Pap immediately went out to buy and send them in the mail that same afternoon. When I told the boys that two more Marshall dogs were on the way, they were very excited to check the mail for the next couple days. Except Owen made sure that I knew the mail doesn't come on Sunday! The Marshalls arrived promptly on Monday and we followed the mail truck around the neighborhood to be sure to get the package right away. Owen gave the white package a special police escort down the driveway that didn't make Spencie very happy as he wanted to carry the bag too! They were all so excited to come in the house and open it, and then sit down and watch Paw Patrol with their dogs while I made lunch. Owen has since detected slight differences between the dogs and I've written each of their names on the tags with a sharpie!
