National Building Museum

Saturday we ventured down to the National Building Museum with the boys.  I'd heard it was a great outing for little boys who like to build, and it certainly was!  After just getting their own mini light panel at home for Spencer's birthday, we were excited to find a gigantic one to play and build on covered in blue foam blocks at the museum.  There was also a special, timed area for 2-6 year olds called the Building Zone with even more building blocks of all shapes and sizes, pretend tools, and dress up clothes that the boys really enjoyed.  Spencer liked wearing his construction vest and hard hat so much that he kept it on almost the entire time we were there.  Afterward, we explored the architecture in the main atrium of museum and let the boys run around the big fountain before eating lunch in the café.  Before leaving, we took the elevator up to the top balcony level where we did a lap around the huge rectangular perimeter, and then were told on our way out that this level wasn't open to the public...oops!  We had a really cool view from up there though and at least we got a couple fun pictures!

Dare me to jump in the fountain Mommy?
