Popcorn and Ice Cream

Now that we're in full-on summer mode, I've been letting the boys have treats at the pool and outside or on the deck after dinner.  Oliver's favorite has been popcorn, while Owen remains true to his veggie straw obsession.  Spencer requests a baggie with some of both!  Tuesday night we gave Oliver and Spencer their first ice cream on a cone...and Owen was intrigued, especially by the chocolate sprinkles on top.  So I made him one (assuming I'd be eating it) and to my surprise he ever so slightly licked the sprinkles on top and declared that he likes ice cream!  He played with it a little more, taking the world's smallest licks and picking sprinkles off, then handed it over to me (Oliver ended up getting it).  I thought Owen finally realized what he's been missing out on, but unfortunately we made ice cream cones again the next night and he didn't want one.  Meanwhile Oliver, with all his creative and inventive tendencies, was excited to tell me about his a "great idea" to dip popcorn into this ice cream cone.  He was so happy and proud that he came up with the idea, and that I let him try it out!
