Lake Anne Splash

Tuesday morning I took Spencer to a kids summer concert series at the Lake Anne plaza in Reston.  He did lots of clapping, dancing, and snacking on his lunch while we watched.  Afterward, we walked over to the fountain area where we saw some kids splashing and having a good time.  Apparently they don't enforce the "no pets or children allowed in fountain" sign because there were a lot of kids in bathing suits and with water toys that looked like this was far from their first time in the fountain!  We had some time before needing to leave and pick the boys' up, so I told Spencie he could splash around a little, but to try and keep his clothes dry since we'd be leaving soon.  What was I thinking asking him to stay dry, haha?!  In less than 2 minutes he was completely soaked from head to toe.  I had a feeling that would probably happen, and even though we didn't have a towel, I knew there were at least dry diapers and shorts in the car.  I also had a bag of clothes waiting to be dropped off at a salvation army in my front seat and was able to dry and wrap him in some of my old t-shirts.  He probably looked pretty funny to the camp counselors when we pulled up in the carpool line and they opened the door to see him fast asleep in the back row wearing a women's pastel purple t-shirt!  Owen and Oliver were envious upon hearing about Spencie's morning playing in a fountain...so we'll definitely visit again, next time prepared to get soaked!

Off to camp for the morning!
