Water Fountain Redemption
The day after our fully clothed fountain experience at Lake Anne, I decided to try fountain hopping again - this time with Spencer's full swim gear on and in a new location that I've always wanted to check out. The twins were excited about their last day of camp for the week, and while Daddy dropped them off I let Spencer sleep in a little so I could get all his things together and lunch packed. It was about a 30 minute drive to Fairfax Corner, but definitely worth it! The area was similar to the Reston Town Center with lots of nice shops and restaurants spread over a few walkable blocks. The fountain area was really nice, with a lot of shaded tables and spots to sit back and watch the kids play in the fountain. Spencer was really excited about this one because the water was unpredictable and would jump around from small, steady fountains to huge blasts of water reaching four times his height. At first he picked a spot right in the spray zone and stuck to it, waiting for the different levels of water intensity to get him. Then at the end he wanted to run in and out of the water, coming over to give me a sopping wet hug each time. Once again, when we told the twins about the fountain they were very envious and told me they wished they could go too. So I have a feeling we'll be heading back in early August after their camp is over next week!
