Feeding Sheep
Friday was a perfectly cool, sunny day so I took the boys to the zoo a couple hours before lunch. There's just something unappealing about zoos on really hot, humid days! This was the first time I took them there alone and I was nervous about how I'd manage all 3 on the tractor ride (because it was inevitable that they'd beg to go on it)! I opted to leave everything behind in the stroller, including my phone, so that I'd have both hands free to juggle the boys and any rouge animals that stuck their heads and horns in at us. The ride went great - Spencer sat on my lap and the twins sat next to each other on one side of me, holding on tight as I instructed them to do. The cutest part about this visit was how well Owen and Oliver did feeding the animals. Last time they didn't really get the concept of cupping their hands to hold the feed and kept dropping most of it on the ground. But this time, they each took a bucket and before I could get down to try and help, they were off shoveling fists full of food to the sheep and goats like pros! It's funny how serious they are about feeding them; later when I was getting them ready for their nap and talking about our morning at the zoo, they both excitedly said "I feed sheep! I feed sheep!"
