Saturday morning we went to an Easter egg hunt and lunch with the bunny at the Claude Moore Community Center. The egg hunt was the first activity, held out on the playground, and the boys were excited to find some Hershey's Kisses, stopping to open and eat their chocolate treasures one by one instead of running on to collect more eggs. By the time they had made their way to the far end of the playground, the bunny appeared and scared Spencie to tears. I don't think Spencie knew what to think of the strange character, especially as he suddenly showed up on Spencer's familiar, playground turf! What I didn't realize until later was that Owen and Oliver were hiding in the background (look in the upper right corner of the picture), not jumping out to save their little brother from the big white bunny! Oliver eventually worked up the courage to run and give the bunny a high five on the playground, but everyone was timid and wary all over again once we were back indoors for lunch. The boys slowly inched their way over the bunny's seat, wanting to give him some of the candy they found in their eggs. Maybe they were just being nice and sharing, but part of me thinks they felt returning some of the treats would keep them in the bunny's good graces!
