So we survived a round trip flight from DC to Dallas with 3 babies under 2 (the last time they will all fly free on our laps). Our nanny, Brinne, came with us on the trip and that was how we had 3 adult laps. Taking the boys on the plane wasn't actually bad at all...even with all of them awake the whole time on both flights! I packed the right amount of trucks and gadgets into the twins' new monkey backpacks to entertain them with something "new" every 20-30 minutes, and we also had our iPad armed with baby games, Elmo, and their favorite TV show "Word World". We were extremely lucky on the way down that the flight was far from full, so we had six seats all together and could play musical chairs with the boys as much as they wanted. However on the way home the flight was packed and we were told there wasn't even a single extra seat, and had to gate check Spencer's car seat and brace ourselves for 3.5 hours of holding babies. Somehow there ended up being one extra seat in the row in front of us and so we at least got to rotate them around the free seat.
The boys loved the speedy feeling during take off and enjoyed drinking milk from the beverage cart, while mommy and daddy drank wine :) Yesterday when we landed back in Dulles, they were funny as they kept saying "airplane all done" over and over while we taxied into the gate, collected our bags and even on the drive home.
