The article is derived from a book called The Art of Roughhousing and sums up in this one line:
“Play—especially active physical play, like roughhousing—makes kids smart, emotionally intelligent, lovable and likable, ethical, physically fit, and joyful.”
Fascinating!! Ryan had actually shared some similar facts with me recently from a book he's reading called "Bringing up Boys". Isn't it amazing how this simple act of play is so important in the development of our brains and emotions?! Lucky for us, we all love some good old-fashioned roughhousing with the boys at our house, and they already have tons of fun doing so with each other...as seen in this video before bath time! Watch out - Spencer's catching up!!
