New Year, New Do

Once again, Owen's bangs were starting to interfere with his vision so we decided to take him for a hair cut before leaving for Dallas on Wednesday.  Oliver's hair was finally long enough for his first ever cut, so the boys got to have it done together this time (Owen has had 2 prior hair cuts already)!

Well the whole thing turned into a disaster.  We went to the Hair Cuttery in the Great Falls village...and will NEVER go there again.  I swore I'd never get my own hair cut in one of these places years ago after a horrible outcome, but we thought surely they can do a boy's cut and not mess it up.  We were wrong.  These people were so pushy and in a huge hurry because Owen was whining a bit before his turn (he was fine once in the chair and on my lap).  It appeared that the noise the twins were making might have been bothering an old man getting his hair cut a few chairs over, causing the ladies to rush through Owen and Oliver's hair, missing spots and making uneven lines with the buzzer.  Beside that one man, the place was empty.  What, were they worried about losing a valuable client who was also paying $10 for similar services?  Now they've lost two.  We kept pointing out the errors and they'd quickly try and fix it, but it was still a poor job in the end - we could have done better ourselves at home (which we will in the future).  The worst part about all of this is that Owen looks so weird with his bangs chopped clear up to his hair line.  It truly looks like a bad hair cut...luckily his hair grows really fast and we'll have his long, floppy mop back in no time!

Oliver doesn't look much different - his frizzy curls are gone from the back and he did fantastic in the chair sitting on Ryan's lap.  He cried a bit before they started, but was ok after that and sat patiently like a good boy.  I would cry too if those ladies were cutting my hair!

Owen's cute shaggy hair before...
