Ginger Bread House

Yesterday we made a ginger bread house and it came out really cute!  Since it was a multi-step process assembling the walls, roof, etc. and waiting for them to dry, we took a break to play outside in the snow after getting the roof on.  Then after nap, Daddy was home for the best part - decorating with the candies!  The boys did a great job making decisions and helping every step of the way, I even let them help hold the electric mixer while we made the icing.  Spencer didn't have as long of an attention span with the decorating and was more interested in chasing the fallen candies under the table.  After he found them all, he started getting cranky because he wanted more...so we kept dropping a couple here or there on purpose to keep him happy!  A few even rolled down into the family room and he went rushing down to search for them under the couch!  Owen and Oliver couldn't resist the urge to eat a few candies (same as Mommy and Daddy) but managed to keep enough for the house.  Owen discovered that he really likes sprinkles and offered to help clean up by eating each individual sprinkle, one at a time, off the kitchen table.  After the house dried, we set up up high on a shelf in the family room (to prevent little boys seeking treats from any further tasting) right next to the mini tree they decorated.
