Soccer and a Hot Shave

Saturday the boys went to their last soccer class for the year.  We started out in the fall with the twins in a 2-3 year old class and Spencer in a class for 18-24 months, but ended up bringing all 3 to the older class because it was easier and the coaches didn't mind since Spencer was able to keep up with all the bigger kid activities.  We stayed afterward and let the boys chase and tackle each other around the field for a little bit.  We needed them to get a lot of energy out because our next task was going to require siting still and waiting patiently.  All 3 desperately needed haircuts, and when Owen asked me to move the hair out of his eyes the night before, I decided it was time.  Actually, I took the scissors and sort of butchered his bangs a little myself, but luckily quit before it was something that couldn't be fixed!  The Cartoon Cuts shop we go to in the mall was completely packed with people, probably trying to get a nice holiday haircut in like we were doing.  So we put our name on the waiting list and took a choo choo train ride to kill some time.  The boys remembered the special lollipop treats they received from this place after their last haircut and were willing to cooperate.  Owen still wanted to sit on my lap, but cautiously let the stylist cut his hair without any crying or complaint.  But Spencer was the one who really amazed me - not only did he sit on the booster all by himself, he seemed to be really enjoying the haircut (eating his lollipop during the process)!  He looked like an old man in the chair, and I thought he might order a hot shave next!  Oliver only got a "shape-up" since his hair grows much slower and I wanted to leave his long curls on top and in the back.  But in the end, all looked very handsome and were content with their lollipops.  We even gave them more rewards with a chic-fil-a lunch and 2 carousel rides in the food court.  What a Saturday morning!
