Hayride and Campfire

Saturday night I managed to get ourselves in the invite list to a hayride and campfire night sponsored by a local realty group.  The event was held around the corner from us at Krop's Crops - a place the boys have come to know well around the fall and holiday season.  When we first arrived the boys played in the big corn bin,  jumping off the side and making "corn" angels.  Oliver liked burying his head in the corn like an ostrich and popped up a few times with corn kernels behind his ears!  Owen was taking his chances burying his favorite acorn from home and hoping to find it again!  Shortly after, the tractor came around and took us on a hayride, then dropped everyone off at the campfire site.  We were so pleasantly surprised by all the food and activities!  The boys had hotdogs and snacks for dinner, then sat around the big fire and roasted marshmallows.  Afterward, we walked over to a little pumpkin patch and picked out a few pumpkins to take back and decorate at a nice table setup with all sorts of supplies.  We discovered that Owen has a bit of an obsession with pumpkins this season (maybe he's a little like me) and took forever to get just the right one, or rather two as he insisted.  The overall cleanliness of the outside of the pumpkin, and size and curvature of the stem were major factors!
