Driveway Races

The boys love racing their toys down our long driveway.  I've been teaching them to line up at the "starting line" (a crack near the end of the driveway and start of the pipe-stem street) and wait for my countdown to GO!  You can see the crack in the second picture below; this starting and stopping crack has also gotten them into the habit of not running out past the end of the driveway, where I then have to go and chase them down.  That can get tricky when all 3 go in different directions.  A few days ago Spencie decided to flee out past the line and "mow" one of the neighbors yards.  Owen took this as an OK to leave the premises as well and start power-wheeling off into someone else's yard, leaving Oliver out of sight, probably digging in the dirt or tasting acorns in our front yard.  So now driveway races have kept them interested in staying within the racing zone.  Spencer still jumps the gun and tries to get a head start most times (see his blurry figure in the second picture), leaving Owen and Oliver at the line saying "Spencie, come back!"  Best part about all this - they are always hungry for lunch / dinner and sleep well for nap / bedtime afterward!
