Home Economics for Toddlers

Last Friday we took the boys to the Strong Museum of Play - twice in one day!  I was really impressed with the exhibits and variety of things to do...even after two visits, there were still parts of the museum we didn't have time to explore.  Here are some cute pictures of the boys playing in several of the more domesticated exhibits.  Oliver spent quite a bit of time taking care of the baby dolls and putting them to sleep in their cradle, while Owen was a regular Julia Child in the kitchen.  And of course, it wouldn't be Rochester without a huge exhibit dedicated to Wegmans!  Way to plant the seeds of consumerism early on, haha!  All 3 of the boys loved pushing the mini shopping carts around the "store", picking out fresh fruits, diapers, eggs...and carrots!!  I think my habit of serving steamed carrots just about every day at lunch has made an impression on the boys because Owen piled about 15 large carrots into his cart, while Oliver put 10 or so cans of carrots into his!  The boys' love of pizza also came through when they found the self serve meal line.  It looked like Oliver was training for his first job as he worked the cash register with a very serious face at the end of the shopping adventure.
