After our busy morning at soccer class you might think the boys would be ready to come inside and have lunch when we got home...but they wanted nothing other than to jump out of the car and run for their outdoor toys and swing set. Their bottomless pit of energy is getting deeper. They looked so cute playing out in the yard in their matching yellow soccer jerseys. At least all 3 of them took a nice 2 hour nap after lunch!

Soccer Bugs
The boys had their second Saturday of fall soccer today and all 3 of them are loving the "soccer bugs" program at the Dulles Sportsplex! Owen and Oliver are in a "Caterpillars" class (2-3 yr) and Spencie is in an "Ants" class (18-24 mo). At such young ages, the classes focus a lot on developing independence and following group instructions by playing fun games with lots of running and movement involved. For example, they warm up by following the coach as he holds up signals for red light, green light, and yellow light as they run back and forth across the field. Then they identify a picture of an animal and run across the field acting and making sounds like that animal. They move on to building towers with cones and then try and knock them down by kicking the ball. There are a few other little activities and then the class ends with some parachute, balloon, and sticker fun! Owen was funny today - declaring orange his favorite color as he chose an orange circle to sit on and picked out an orange sticker to take home. He also picked an orange cup at home this morning as his drinking cup for the day. He even currently has what he calls his "favorite orange truck". We've noticed this tendency toward the color orange before, but it seems to be back in full force recently!
