Time On My Hands

Monday and Tuesday this week were the boys first full 3 hour days of preschool (last week the days were shortened).  Boy was it nice.  And that's an understatement!  While we truly treasured our summer days of sleeping in until 9:30am, umm sometimes 10:00am, and staying up just as late...it suddenly feels like fall and our new schedule of getting up and going to bed earlier is a nice change.  The boys have been doing fabulous at preschool, bringing home cute works of art and really getting into the new playground.  Owen has cried each time at drop-off so far, but his teachers say it only lasts about 5 minutes after I've gone and will likely end soon.  It's comforting to know he has Oliver there to make him feel a little more secure, and I let him take his Baby Blankie of course.  So yesterday and today Spencer and I got out and about!  We went shopping for new fall clothes for the boys and took a ride on the carousel at the mall afterward.  Today I hosted a play date with two other moms who have 3 year olds in preschool at the same time as the twins on Tuesday and younger boys Spencer's age.  It was such a change of pace to relax with some Starbucks and have great conversation while sitting back and watching our little boys peacefully play!  I even felt rested enough during nap time to try out a corn dog muffin recipe I stumbled across online:

All 3 of the boys loved them and we ate delicious mini corn dog muffins for a snack and also with dinner.  With 6 hours of "free time" on my hands each week, the possibilities are endless.  I have tons of ideas for more adventurous outings with Spencer and projects at home!
