While Mommy's Away
The boys had a long weekend of being spoiled by my dad and Uncle Marty while Ryan and I were away in Portland. They had a nice boys only weekend, with lots of time spent on the playground and at home riding their new tractors! The tractors arrived before I left, so I took some pictures from their first day riding these new toys. It was fun watching them figure out how to control the bigger, more powerful tractors! Spencie actually got the first crack at it during the boys first morning at preschool. While I took the twins to school, Spencie stayed home with Pap Pap and did some leisurely riding up and down the driveway and around the yard. The new tractors operate with a foot pedal, instead of a hand button like their smaller power wheels tractor, and so it took him only about 10 minutes to master the big boy tractor (meant for ages 3-7) before he was cruising all over the place. When we arrived home from preschool, there was some contention as to who would be relegated to the older, wimpy tractor. Spencer held his ground on one of the big ones and Owen was the most willing to take turns riding the little one in order to keep the peace. All 3 of them instinctively devised a loop around the perimeter of the yard, circling the swing set, fire pit, my car, and other obstacles! And although we tell them not to bump, they like to pretend the tractors are bumper cars and run into each other.
